ASRock Introduces Beebox Mini PCs With Intel Apollo Lake Processors
ASRock has added new mini PCs to its Beebox line. The Beebox J4205 and J3455, as the names indicate, have an Intel Pentium J4205 and Celeron J3455 processor respectively. These are Apollo Lake processors with a TDP of 10W.
The Beebox J4205 and J3455 have the same housing as the previously released Beebox J3160, but that mini PC with Braswell quadcore has somewhat lower specifications. For example, the new models with Apollo Lake quad-cores can be equipped not only with 2.5″ SATA storage media, but also with SSDs with m2 form factor. In addition, there is support for up to ddr3l 1866MHz, where the Beebox with Braswell soc supports up to DDR3L 1600MHz.
Furthermore, the Apollo Lake processors are more powerful than the Braswell variant, but the TDP is also slightly higher with 10W than the 6W of the J3160. according to FanlessTech, the Apollo Lake Beebox is not fanless. The dimensions of the Beebox are 110x46x118.5mm. On the front are USB 3.0, USB-C, an IR sensor and an audio output. At the back, the compact PC has two HDMIs, one of which supports audio and 4k60Hz, displayport, a duo of USB 3.0 ports and a LAN connection. The prices of the models are not yet known.
