ASRock comes with fanless Bay Trail motherboard with dc-in jack
ASRock has released a new motherboard based on an energy-efficient Bay Trail platform from Intel. It is a Celeron J1900 CPU. The fanless Q1900DC-ITX motherboard also offers two USB 3.0 ports and must be powered from a power supply with a DC connector.
The ASRock motherboard, reported by Fanlesstech, seems particularly interesting for htpc applications. The difference with the Q1900 boards previously announced by ASRock is that a dc-in jack is present, so that a power supply such as that for laptops must be used for the power supply. Two so-dimms can be placed on the motherboard. Also, both a PCI Express x1 and a Mini PCI Express expansion slot are included.
On the Q1900DC-ITX motherboard, four hard disks or SSDs can be connected to the two SATA 300 and two SATA 600 connections. Two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 inputs are also present. For video output, ASRock has placed a DVI, an HDMI and a VGA output on the motherboard. It is still unclear what the motherboard will cost.
