According to ASML, the production and improvement of euv machines for chip production are going better than expected. As a result, the Veldhoven-based company was able to deliver four ordered machines in the past quarter, one more than expected.

Peter Wennink, the CEO of ASML, said in the presentation of the quarterly figures that the production and improvement of euv machines has been accelerated by ‘targeted execution’. Chip manufacturers want to use the machines this year to make chips in smaller processes.

ASML delivered four euv machines in the past quarter, but also received seven new orders. The company says it is still on track to deliver a total of 20 machines this year. Production should be increased next year to be able to supply thirty EUV machines.

ASML also received more orders for machines for the production of memory chips. As a result, turnover in the past quarter amounted to 2.74 billion euros, so more than the 2.5 to 2.6 billion euros that was expected. Turnover was also much higher than in the same quarter last year. At that time it was 1.9 billion euros. The quarterly profit amounted to 540 million euros.
