Arlo is raising prices on all cloud storage plans
Arlo, manufacturer of surveillance cameras and video doorbells, is raising the prices of all cloud storage plans. The cheapest subscription goes from 2.79 to 3.99 euros per month. The price increases will take effect on April 17.
It is the first time since its inception in 2014 that Arlo has increased its prices, the company says in a FAQ. A Arlo Secure subscription gives access to security features and cloud storage of the company’s devices. Users looking to integrate a single camera will go soon 3.99 euros per month pay for cloud storage. The option to integrate an unlimited number of cameras will cost 10.99 euros. Arlo will offer the option to pay annually for the first time. The prices are then about seventeen percent cheaper than with a monthly subscription. The price increases will be implemented on April 17.
Arlo users can also review seven days of footage without a paid subscription. Those images are then stored at Arlo. The company advertised this feature prominently on packaging and in marketing materials. That free feature was going to be scrapped, but Arlo came back to that later. Without the free feature, users must pay or use an Arlo Base Station to store recordings locally.
