ArenaNet Announces Roadmap and Fourth Expansion for Guild Wars 2
ArenaNet has put a roadmap for Guild Wars 2 online, detailing the updates players can expect this spring. In addition, the developer also confirms that there will be a fourth expansion for the mmo.
In a comprehensive blog post the plans for Guild Wars 2 are laid out. Among other things, the previously announced release on Steam is planned and ArenaNet also wants to introduce different seasons with unique content during the year. The professions will also be updated and the World vs World system will be further developed.
In addition to the roadmap, ArenaNet also announces that there will be a fourth expansion for the mmo. However, the developer emphasizes that it is a ‘very early announcement’. Therefore, the developer does not want to share any details yet and players should not expect much news about this expansion in the short term.
The last expansion for Guild Wars 2 was End of Dragons and was released on February 28 this year. According to ArenaNet, this expansion has sold more than the 2017 Path of Fire expansion. ArenaNet also reports that the number of Guild Wars 2 players has doubled in the past three years, but the developer does not give exact figures.
