Archos introduces Arcbook netbook with Android for 149 euros
Archos has announced the ArcBook. According to the French company, it is a ‘netbook’ with a 10.1″ touchscreen and a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, which runs Android 4.2. The price of the small Android laptop is 149 euros.
While most tech manufacturers have put their laptop plans on the back burner to focus on tablets and have long said goodbye to netbooks, tablet specialist Archos is just announcing a small laptop. The ArcBook runs on an RK3168-soc with two Cortex A9 cores at 1.2GHz. There is 1GB of RAM and 8GB of flash storage.
The dimensions of the laptops are 272x181x22mm and the weight is 1.28 kilos. The ArcBook has, among other things, a USB 3.0 host port, a micro-SD card reader and a battery with a capacity of 8000mAh, with which a working time of 10 hours should be achievable. Archos supplies, among other things, the office suite Office Suite Pro 6 with the device and the manufacturer also promises that users will have full access to all Google services, including the Play Store. The Android version on the system is 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The resolution of the 10.1″ screen is only 1024×600 pixels, but the price is therefore not high at 149 euros. Incidentally, it is by no means the company’s first laptop or netbook: in 2009 Archos announced its first netbook on.
