Archos has announced a smartphone with Android Oreo Go with a 5.7″ display that has an 18:9 ratio, or 2:1. Because Android Go phones tend to be cheap, many other models have traditional screens with a ratio of 18:9. 16:9 or 15:9.

According to the manufacturer, the Archos Access 57 has an LCD with a resolution of 960×480 pixels. The device has a Spreadtrum SC9832E-soc at a maximum of 1.4GHz. This includes an ARM Mali T820 GPU. The device can use 4g via the 800, 1800 and 2600MHz bands.

The phone has a large storage of 16GB for Android Go, where users can add a microSD card up to 64GB via the expandable storage. The RAM has a size of 1GB.

Due to the low price, Archos has omitted some of the sensors often found in more expensive smartphones, such as NFC and a compass. The device has a micro USB port and a 3.5mm jack. The 157x75x10.2mm phone has a battery on board with a capacity of 2400mAh.

The device runs on Android Go, a lighter version of Android with fewer and lighter apps that is more economical with memory and storage. Phones with Android Go also need less data for updates. It is about Android Oreo Go and not about the recently presented Android Pie Go. Archos will put the phone on sale in October for 79.99 euros.
