CD Projekt will release its augmented reality game The Witcher: Monster Slayer on July 21. The smartphone game is free to play and includes in-game purchases. Players face off against monsters in the game that can be displayed in AR view.
In The Witcher: Monster Slayer, players can search for monsters, fight them and complete quests. The monsters can be found in real world locations and are shown in the game with AR rendering. Players get a choice of different weapons, armor and potions.
According to an explanation on the website of the makers uses the local weather conditions and features narrative adventures inspired by The Witcher book series. The game was developed by Spokko, a studio that is part of publisher CD Projekt.
The game is available for Android and iOS. Android users can register in the Play Store to get notified when the game is available. The game is for a limited number of users already made available through a soft launch.
