AR game The Witcher: Monster Slayer comes to Android and iOS on July 21

CD Projekt will release its augmented reality game The Witcher: Monster Slayer on July 21. The smartphone game is free to play and includes in-game purchases. Players will compete in-game against monsters that can be shown in AR view.

In The Witcher: Monster Slayer, players can search for monsters, fight with them, and thus complete quests. The monsters can be found in real world locations and are shown in the game with AR display. Players get to choose from different weapons, armor and potions.

According to an explanation on the creator’s website, the game uses local weather conditions and features narrative adventures inspired by The Witcher book series. The game was developed by Spokko, a studio that is part of publisher CD Projekt.

The game comes out for Android and iOS. Android users can register in the Play Store to be notified when the game is available. The game is for a limited number of users already made available through a soft launch.
