Participants in Microsoft’s Xbox One Preview program will receive an update around this time. The first April update was rolled out from March 20. Another update with is coming this week. With the March 20 update, gamers will receive better achievement notifications, among other things.

Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, director of programming for Xbox Live, writes on his blog. In addition to the achievement messages, the Party Chat and Game Hub links have also been addressed. Most important changes to the group chat can be found in the way the gamer is guided through the menus. For example, it was unclear to many how to get a microphone or how to solve network problems, such as network blockages. Players should also be able to more easily see what friends they follow are up to through the activity feed items. Returning to an activity feed post related to a particular game should also be easier, including accessing the achievements, game clips and screenshots.

In addition to all these improvements, the description that the gamer gets from the achievement notifications also looks clearer. From now on, the player can see what he did to get the respective achievement without having to open the achievements app first. Finally, the blog reports that opening the achievement app should now be faster and smoother.
