Apps for iOS should support the iPhone X screen from July

Developers who release apps for iOS or want to update their existing apps will be required to install support for the iPhone X notch screen from July onwards. Presumably, all the new iPhones that Apple releases this year have a notch.

Apps and updates are no longer allowed to show black bars on the iPhone X screen from July onwards. The full screen should then be used. Also, all apps have to be made with the iOS 11 SDK from July. Apple reports the requirements on its developer portal. Earlier this year, Apple indicated in an e-mail to developers that per April apps should provide support for the notch. That deadline seems to have shifted.
From July, not all apps will immediately support the iPhone X screen. Developers are not required to adjust current apps. Only if they want to update for an existing app should there be support for the screen with the notch at the top.
Apple’s requirement for new apps and updates reinforces the suspicions that the manufacturer this year more models with a notch in the screen will release. According to rumors, Apple is presenting three iPhones with notch this September; it would be a 6.1 “model with LCD and two variants with oled screens of 6.5” and 5.8 “.
