Apple has announced that the Beats Music music service will no longer be available after November 30. Existing customers can be transferred to Apple Music. There were already rumors that Apple wanted to discontinue the Beats Music service in favor of its own streaming music service.

The November 30 date was mentioned on a support page on Beats’ website. Existing customers who use the music streaming service Beats Music will automatically cancel their subscription on that date. If you want to, you can have your settings and preferences, including playlists, transferred to Apple Music; both music streaming services are owned by Apple.

There have been several rumors that Apple did not want to continue with Beats Music because the company would not want to offer two identical services with the same function side by side. At the time, Apple dismissed the rumors as false. Despite this, the discontinuation of Beats Music was already expected, as it is no longer possible for new users to subscribe to the Beats service since the introduction of Apple Music.

Beats Music came into the hands of Apple last year after it bought headphone maker Beats for 3 billion dollars, about 2.8 billion euros. Apple’s own music service was announced in June, after a lengthy period of negotiations with record labels.
