Apple Watch Series 7 to be announced soon – but can you buy it right away?!

It was already clear that the Apple Watch Series 7 is dealing with production problems. But Apple still plans to announce the new Watch during the September event, along with the iPhone 13, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman writes. The only question is whether you can buy the new Apple Watch immediately afterwards.

Apple Watch: Limited Edition or Later?

Gurman says the production issues surrounding the new Apple Watch could in fact lead to three scenarios:

• The Apple Watch announcement will be delayed until production is back in order.
• The Apple Watch will just be announced on schedule and will be available in a limited edition initially.
• The Apple Watch is announced on schedule and won’t be available for sale until a later date.

Gurman thinks of a combination of the latter two. The Apple Watch will indeed be announced during the September event. Some models are immediately available after that but in limited edition. Other Apple Watch models will come at a later date.

Why the delay? The Apple Watch Series 7 gets quite a major design change that sets it apart from the previous Apple Watch models. For example, it gets a slightly different size: 41 and 45 mm (previously that was 40 and 44 mm). The screen and the sides are somewhat flatter, making the design similar to that of the iPhone 12, among others. According to rumors, you do not have to expect new health functions this year.

September Apple event

According to the latest rumors, Apple’s September event will take place on Tuesday, September 14. The leading role is then reserved for the new iPhone 13, but we also expect wearables such as the Apple Watch Series 7 and the AirPods 3.
