Apple Watch Series 7: Biggest Change Ever
Apple has just unveiled the new Apple Watch Series 7. The screen has been completely redone. In addition, the new model has received a few interesting features. Everything you need to know about the Apple Watch Series 7 release!
Design: bigger, stronger screen and new colors
In recent years, Apple has moved to flat edge designs. Among others, the iPad Pro, the iPhone 12 and the 24-inch iMac had to believe it. The new Apple Watch, however, sticks to rounder edges: in fact, according to Apple, the design is more rounded than before.
The screen, in particular, has been significantly improved: the glass is half thicker and therefore a lot stronger, and now meets the IP6X standard. The underlying display is larger because the screen edges have become 40% narrower. The new screen is also up to 70% brighter when not in use (always-on), while the battery life has remained the same.
The new screen has changed the two sizes of the Apple Watch: from 40 and 44mm to 41 and 45mm. However, you can still use your old Apple Watch bands.
In addition to the changed design, there are also new colors: midnight, starlight, (dark) green and a lighter blue color. The PRODUCT(RED) version is also available again.
New features
The Apple Watch Series 7 also has a number of new features due to the larger screen. For example, there are new dials that use it. Examples include ‘Modular Max’, a digital clock with multiple oversized complications, and ‘Atlas’, a dial with the Earth and all 24 time zones simultaneously. You can also use the larger screen for the first time to type on a full keyboard.
The new Apple Watch also supports fast charging for the first time. This makes charging 33% faster, so that the Watch can be charged to 80% in 45 minutes.
Apple Watch Series 7 release and price
The new Apple Watch Series 7 won’t be available until later in the fall. The previously reported production delays are probably the reason for this. The dollar prices are as follows:
- Apple Watch Series 7 – 41mm: $399
- Apple Watch Series 7 – 45mm: $429
- Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular – 41mm: Starting at $499
- Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular – 45mm: Starting at $529
The American prices have remained the same with the Series 6. The cellular (4G) models are also shown on Apple’s website. These are the expected prices:
- Apple Watch Series 7 – 41mm: €428.25
- Apple Watch Series 7 – 45mm: €458.25
- Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular – 41mm: from €528.25
- Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular – 45mm: from €558.25
