Apple users report problems downloading iOS 9
Apple made iOS 9 available on Wednesday evening for iPhones, iPads and iPods that can handle the software, but many users are reporting that the upgrade has failed. The error occurs when downloading and is probably due to the crowds.
Although the upgrade will in principle be ready from Wednesday evening 19.00, not everyone will see it immediately. If you already have the option to upgrade, you may encounter an error message. Many users report namely on Twitter that the download failed after which they get an error. Apple’s servers are probably overloaded by the influx. The problems seem to be worldwide. When updating through iTunes, the issues don’t seem to occur, only through over-the-air updates
Owners of an iPhone, iPad, or iPod that supports the OS should be able to update their software through their device’s update settings or through a link to iTunes once the issues are resolved. They then download a file of 1.3 GB. Any device that can run iOS 8 can also upgrade to version 9 of Apple’s mobile OS.
With iOS 9, Apple brings, among other things, the Apple Proactive Assistant to Siri, which automatically makes suggestions and reminds users of appointments. In addition, the assistant can automatically place invitations in e-mails in the calendar. New in the operating system is the News app, which puts messages and articles from news organizations in its own layout.
The software brings some iPad-specific features to users, such as the Air 2’s ability to run two apps side by side and then drag items back and forth. The virtual keyboard can now serve as a trackpad and there is a picture-in-picture mode for video chatting.
