Apple TV remote gets touchpad
Apple wants to give the Apple TV a new remote, which is slightly thicker and includes a touchpad to navigate. That reports an American newspaper. Apple is likely to announce the new Apple TV next month.
Apple itself has not released anything about a new Apple TV, but the reliable American newspaper The New York Times does have something to say about the remote control of the as yet unannounced device. For example, the remote control will be slightly thicker than the existing remote; the thickness would be comparable to that of Amazon’s smart Echo speaker.
In addition, the remote control will be equipped with a touchpad, which will probably take the place of the existing four-point push button. It is still unclear how users can use the touchpad to navigate. In addition to the touchpad, the remote will receive two more physical buttons, similar to the current remote.
Apple is likely to announce the new Apple TV next month at its WWDC developer conference. According to previous rumors, the new Apple TV will also get an App Store and support for Siri. In addition, the storage memory would increase significantly and the device would have support for Apple’s own streaming service, about which rumors have been circulating for some time.
