Apple to hold event on March 25 that may reveal streaming service
Apple will hold an event in Cupertino on March 25, which will most likely not showcase a new iPhone this time. In all likelihood, Apple will present its own video service and perhaps a news subscription service during this event.
Several American media have received an invitation to an event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. The invitation sent by e-mail included a short gif with a classic movie countdown that eventually shows the Apple logo and the text ‘It’s show time’. Apple also used the same text at an event in 2006 to announce the original Apple TV.
In all likelihood, Apple will announce its own video streaming service at the upcoming event. Through that service you can view productions that Apple has made itself and owners of the Apple TV devices probably do not have to pay for this.
Earlier there were rumors that Apple will present a subscription service for news on March 25 in addition to the video service. The company has not yet officially confirmed what exactly will be announced on March 25. Judging by the invitation, it is unclear whether more will be announced about this news service at the event. Announcements about a new iPad and updated AirPods may also follow.
