Apple is rumored to have started producing its new iPhone. This would have a similar appearance to the current models and have Force Touch. This technology measures how hard the user presses on the screen.

That reports the usually well-informed Bloomberg based on its sources. They state that Apple has already started producing its upcoming iPhone and that mass production will start from next month. Apple is expected to be able to make many devices quickly, because it has been decided to keep the appearance the same as the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, according to the sources. In addition, Apple would have opted for a screen with Force Touch, a technique that measures the pressure on the screen and can therefore measure how hard a user presses.

Apple is expected to be on track to release the new iPhone, which, if the rumors are true, will have the same 4.7″ and 5.5″ screen as the current models. The manufacturer usually chooses a release in September. Other rumors reported that the manufacturer wants to show its new iPhone models to the public in August, which makes it likely that a release will be chosen in early September. Bloomberg’s sources do have a caveat that the precise timing depends on the success of producing enough screens with Force Touch.

Rumors have already surfaced that Apple would opt for Force Touch in its new iPhone. The technology is already being used in the Apple Watch and trackpads of some laptop models. Different actions can then be linked to how hard a user presses on the screen.
