Apple squashes bug that could cause data corruption on MacBook Pro SSD

Apple has released a firmware update to fix a bug in the SSD of some MacBook Pro models. According to the manufacturer, the error could in some cases lead to corrupt data files.

The affected firmware update has been published on Apple’s website. A file called Flash Storage Firmware Update 1.0 can be downloaded there and weighs 1.9MB. According to Apple, the fix is ​​intended for owners of a Macbook Pro from ‘mid 2015’. The company has not disclosed exactly which models these are: it may only be the 15″ model that was presented recently, but the previously released 13″ model may also contain the bug.

Apple states that the minor firmware update is intended to fix an error related to the SSD built into the MacBooks. In some cases, data corruption could occur, something that should be prevented with the update.
