Apple Renews Paid AppleCare+ Service With Unlimited Hardware Repairs

Apple is ending repair limits through AppleCare+, the support service the company offers for its products. Users can have their devices repaired indefinitely during the duration. Previously, a maximum of two claims per year were covered.

On the AppleCare+ pages of various Apple products, like the iPhone, it says that from now on the insurance will cover hardware repairs “including an unlimited number of incidents of damage due to an accident”. In addition, the company reports that the paid service only offers cover for physical damage as a result of an accident. For example, theft is not covered

The company also still charges a deductible for repairs under AppleCare+. The amount also remains unchanged and depends on the type of damage and the product. For example, in the case of an iPhone 12, 13 or 14, a repair of the screen or glass on the back costs 29 euros. For ‘other claims’ with those iPhones, the tech giant charges a deductible of 99 euros. However, that’s less than what the repairs would cost without AppleCare+. For example, a screen repair for the iPhone 14 Pro costs 405 euros without insurance.

Unlimited repairs through AppleCare+ appear to be available for all Apple products for which the service is available, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, Macs, AirPods, and monitors. The change also appears to apply to existing AppleCare+ plans. The price of the service remains unchanged, even though the number of covered repairs has been increased. The rates of the service differ per product.
