Apple releases iOS 12, tvOS 12 and watchOS 5

According to Apple iOS 12 ensures that performance improves compared with iOS 11; the OS should be faster and more responsive. In addition to iOS12, Apple has also released tvOS 12. This new version of the operating system, which will be released for the Apple TV 4K and the Apple TV from 2015, is supported by Dolby Atmos as the most important innovation. This means that users can listen to Dolby Atmos tracks from movies purchased in iTunes, if a compatible receiver or soundbar is used. In addition, Apple has added a faster login procedure and new screensavers with tvOS12. Recently, Netflix also added support for Dolby Atmos on the Apple TV 4K.

Finally, the latest version of the operating system for the Apple Watch has been released. For the use of watchOS 5 it is necessary that iOS 12 is installed on the linked iPhone. Since the iPhone 5s is the oldest iPhone to access iOS 12, at least one iPhone 5s must be used for the use of watchOS 5. This new version of watchOS adds the ‘Walkie-Talkie’ function to send short voice messages to contacts. The Siri Suggestions app is also introduced, which is also included in iOS 12.
