Apple releases iOS 11.0.1 with email fix

Apple has released iOS 11.0.1. The update fixes an issue that prevents Mail app users using an Outlook.com, Office 365, or Exchange Server 2016 email address from sending emails.

Apple only states with the update that it contains “bug fixes and improvements”, without giving further details. The support page that previously reported issues with the Mail app now states that iOS 11.0.1 fixes these issues.

After the release of iOS 11 last week, the Mail app was found to be incompatible with Outlook.com, Office 365, or Exchange Server 2016. Microsoft and Apple confirmed the issues and promised to come up with a fix. Microsoft recommended users to use the Outlook application as a workaround.
