Apple recalls 2015 part 15″ MacBook Pros due to battery overheating
Apple is recalling part of the 15-inch version of the 2015 MacBook Pro due to the risk of battery overheating. Apple advises users of laptops with that battery to stop using the device.
Apple replaces the batteries of laptops with batteries that are at risk of overheating free of charge, according to the manufacturer. These are models that were sold between release in mid-2015 and February 2017. Apple does not say how many laptops there are with those batteries or how large they make up of the 15-inch MacBook Pros sold during that period.
The American manufacturer has put a page online where customers can enter the serial number of their laptop to see if their laptop is at risk of overheating. If so, Apple recommends discontinuing use of the laptop and contacting a nearby retailer where users can have the laptop battery replaced.
It is the last model of the MacBook Pro without Butterfly keyboard and Touch Bar. Butterfly keyboard laptops released since 2016 are excluded from this recall.
