Apple puts a tool online for embedding podcasts on web pages

Apple has put a tool online to embed podcasts on web pages. The tool creates an embed code with an iframe. The purpose of the tool is for podcast creators to promote their podcast.

The tool is on an Apple site and the embed code can be requested without users being administrators of podcasts. This also makes it possible for news sites, for example, to record embeds of podcasts from third parties with the player.

Podcasts started out as part of the iTunes and iOS app, but has now also become a macOS app and the option to play podcasts via the web has also been around for some time. Embeds are already a feature of many podcast hosts, but Apple didn’t have the feature yet. Apple is the primary source of podcast feeds worldwide; many podcast apps use Apple’s index for podcasts.
