Apple Music will be available early on Amazon Echo speakers
Amazon Echo users can now use their speaker to play music via Apple Music. The service should have been available next week, but can already be used by people with a subscription.
The website 9To5Mac noted that the service is now available to Echo users, and can be accessed by linking the Apple Music account with the Alexa application. After that, it is possible to play music on the smart speaker.
After linking the accounts, users can issue commands to play music on the Echo. Not all functions are available yet, according to 9To5Mac. For example, it is not yet possible to play manually added music. It is also not possible to directly add a song that is played via the Echo to the music library.
Amazon had already announced that its smart speakers would receive support for Apple Music. That should happen from next week, but as of Friday, users already announced that they could play music via Apple’s service. The speakers have been able to handle Spotify, Deezer and TuneIn for some time now.
