Apple Music app coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles

Apple has made its music streaming service available for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S. The Apple Music app for those consoles is now available to download from the Xbox Store. The application allows users to listen to music while gaming, among other things.

The Apple Music app was released for Xbox consoles on the Xbox Store on Wednesday and the Microsoft Storenotes among others The Verge journalist Tom Warren on. Similar to the Apple Music app for Apple TV, the app lets subscribers to the service listen to music through their consoles. According to Reddit users it is also possible to play Apple Music music in the background, for example while playing games.

Apple Music isn’t the first music streaming service to be available for Microsoft’s consoles. Spotify, for example, has been available on Xbox consoles for years, alongside other music services like Amazon Music and Deezer. Apple Music has also been available on Sony’s PlayStation 5 console since last year and is also available for select LG and Samsung televisions. Apple Music is not yet available for Windows PCs.
