Apple has updated its Android app for Apple Music to now support lossless music playback. From now on, support for Dolby Atmos is also available.

The update that brings lossless audio support to the Android app follows a month and a half after the arrival of that feature to the Apple Music app on iOS. In the app, the company warns that this feature may lead to higher data usage.

Apple also announces the arrival of support for spatial reproduction of sound “with thousands of tracks in Dolby Atmos available.” Only Android devices with support for Dolby Atmos show the toggle for this audio functionality in the Apple Music app.

In addition, after the update, users can use automatic crossfading and changes have been made that, according to Apple, make searching for music easier.
