Apple launches screen repair program for aluminum versions Watch Series 2 and 3
Apple is launching a screen repair program for the aluminum versions of the Watch Series 2 and Series 3. “In rare cases,” according to Apple, there can be a crack at the curved edges of the screen, which in the worst case forms a large circle.
According to Apple, this concerns both the 38mm and 42mm variants of the watches, which are sold in multiple colors. The information page shows that the crack can occur on all aluminum Watch Series 2 and Series 3. Apple does not state under what circumstances the crack can occur. It is also unclear how many people suffer from a cracked Apple Watch screen.
Customers who wish to take advantage of the free replacement program must go to an Apple Authorized Service Provider, an Apple Authorized Retailer, or contact Apple Support to ship the Watch. The program is global and covers devices purchased from the store up to three years ago. Smartwatches that fall outside that period will still be eligible for a screen repair one year after announcing the program.
