Apple launches invitations app (and that is reason for a party)

Apple has released a brand new iPhone app: Apple Invitations. The name says it all—with this app make, send and manage invitations for all your events. Whether it is a birthday party, a drink or a business meeting, you arrange it all from one handy app.

The rumors have been around for a while, but now it is official: Apple invitations can now be downloaded for free in the App Store. As soon as you open the app, you can get started right away. Choose an image from your photo library or use one of the festive designs that Apple has prepared for you.

A good party of course also has music, and that is why you can easily link an Apple Music playlist to your invitation. In addition, the app effortlessly integrates with other Apple services:

  • Automatically create a shared photo album for your guests.
  • Add a location so that visitors find their way with Apple cards.
  • Check the weather forecast for the big day immediately.

As an organizer, you keep everything under control. You can edit invitations, add extra guests, and view RSVPs. And do you still have a change at the last minute? No problem—you can easily adjust the details. You can read more about how to use the app in our free workshop:

Part of iCloud+

To use Apple invitations, you need iOS 18 and iCloud+. There is a good chance that you already have iCloud+, because if you pay for extra iCloud storage, this will be automatic. ICLOUD+ also offers useful extras such as hide my e-mail address and private passage in Safari.

Good to know: you can send invitations to everyone, also to people without an iPhone or Apple account. They just cannot add photos or videos to the shared album or add songs to the playlist. For the latter you need a subscription to Apple Music anyway.

Apple invitations is exclusively available for the iPhone and not (yet) for the iPad or Mac. You can use the app via iCloud.com in almost every browser.
