Apple is probably working on successor to iTunes for Windows 10
Apple seems to be working on a successor for the iTunes app for Windows 10. In a vacancy, the manufacturer asks for a developer with experience with Universal Windows Platform, the technique for making Windows Store apps
The vacancy that Neowin discovered talks about media apps for Windows. The vacancy does not specifically say which apps are involved, but in the latest version of macOS iTunes has been replaced by three apps: Music, Podcasts and TV. It is obvious that those apps will eventually also work on Windows 10.
The vacancy claims that experience with Universal Windows Platform is a plus. That is the set of tools that developers can use to create apps for the Windows Store that are independent of the processor architecture. As a result, many of those apps can also work on laptops with arm computers and converting apps for the Xbox platform is also easier than with a native app.
Apple has not responded further to the online appearance of the vacancy. The company has said that iTunes for Windows will continue to exist for the time being. Apple offers iTunes for Windows on its own site, but also in the Store.
