Apple is making lossless audio available for Apple Music on Android
Apple has updated its Android app for Apple Music to support lossless music playback. Support for Dolby Atmos is also now available.
The update added support for lossless audio to the Android app, follows a month and a half after the arrival of that feature to the Apple Music app on iOS. In the app, the company warns that this function can lead to higher data consumption.
Apple also reports the arrival of support for spatial reproduction of sound “with thousands of tracks in Dolby Atmos available.” Only Android devices with support for Dolby Atmos will show the toggle for this audio functionality in the Apple Music app.
In addition, users will be able to use automatic crossfading after the update and changes have been made that, according to Apple, make searching for music easier.
