Apple is expected to announce new iPads on October 16

Apple is said to be planning to announce new iPads on October 16. Last year, the company announced new tablets around the same time. If previous rumors are true, new iMacs will also be shown during the event.

Re/code, which is often reliable in such rumours, claims to have sources confirming that Apple will hold an iPad-centric event on October 16. If the rumors are true, the company should start sending out invitations soon. In addition to new iPads, which are likely to get the A8 soc and TouchID, Apple plans to release new iMacs with retina displays that run on OS X Yosemite.

Apple was expected to announce new iPads this month. Last year, the Cupertino company announced new iPads on October 22, and Apple has been known to typically maintain an annual cycle.

Last month, Apple already announced two new iPhones. The two new models have larger screen diagonals than the previous iPhone 5 series. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have a 4.7″ and 5.5″ screen respectively.
