Apple iPhone SE 2020 officially launched
Although Apple did not do it as usual with a keynote, the Apple iPhone SE 2020 is a fact. The device has just appeared online on Apple’s website. It comes in black, white and red and costs between 489 and 659 euros and is therefore called ‘the most affordable iPhone’ (the most affordable iPhone).
It was partly because of the coronavirus different than normal. No crowded audience with clapping people, no proud Tim Cook on stage, no flashy videos and extra focus on certain possibilities of the phone. Apple iPhone SE 2020 has been officially announced by simply making it available on the website. That makes the device no less interesting. Here’s what you need to know.

Screen and design
iPhone SE 2020 is a fairly compact phone, so don’t expect a large tablet-like screen, but rather a device that is easy to hold. It has a glass back with the Apple logo and features the well-known aluminum rim. The screen of the new generation iPhone SE is 4.7 inch Retina HD. The device has an IP67 rating, which means that it is waterproof and dustproof. It is waterproof up to 1 meter for half an hour. Inside is the Bionic A13 chip, a special Apple-developed chip that is extremely fast and can handle the other Apple technology. For example, Apple indicates that you can play with ease.
Cameras
The device runs on iOS 13 and is equipped with one camera on the back, namely a 12MP variant with portrait mode. There are six different light options to choose when taking a portrait, which is partly made possible by machine learning and the Bionic A13 chip. The camera can record videos with stereo sound. Not just videos, but 4K recordings with up to 60 frames per second. There is of course a selfie camera on the front.
Security
There is a fingerprint scanner to unlock the device, so that is not done with a face scan. Instead, the ring around the Home button is used to quickly unlock the device with the fingerprint. The device provides haptic feedback and you can use Quick Actions to, for example, quickly animate a Live Photo or to be able to read a part of an email before opening it completely.
Battery
You can charge the phone both wired and wirelessly via Qi technology. You can charge the device half full in half an hour via wireless charging. The device uses WiFi 6 and thanks to the dual-SIM option, you can use two SIM cards in it, such as your private and business number.
Cost
Of course you want to know how much damage this device will do to your wallet. Precisely because it is not a successor to the iPhone 11, we look at a device that is made for slightly lower budgets . There are three variants: the iPhone SE of 64GB costs 489 euros, that of 128GB 539 euros and that of 256GB is 659 euros.
