Apple holds Unleashed event on October 18, possibly for new MacBooks
Apple will be holding the Unleashed event on Monday, October 18 at 7:00 PM GMT. The online unveiling event is likely to revolve around new series of MacBook Air and Pro laptops with a mini LED screen.
The full digital reveal event can be viewed live via the official Apple website or other Apple channels. The livestream was recorded at the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple’s Cupertino campus. Although the tech giant has not yet announced what the event will be about, Apple usually announces new laptops and desktops in the fall.
That suspicion is reinforced by all the unofficial information about a new line of MacBook Pros that came out recently. Suppliers reported last summer that production of a new MacBook Pro had already started. There was then talk of renewed versions of 14- and 16-inch MacBooks, equipped with a mini LED screen and the alleged M1X soc. A macOS beta also hinted at higher resolutions for as-yet-announced MacBook Pros. Apple would also work on a new version of the Mac mini, again equipped with the as yet unannounced M1X processor. Finally, Ming-Chi Kuo reported this summer that the MacBook Air would get a refresh with a mini LED screen, although there was no mention of a new processor at the time.
