Apple gives iOS support for spam notifications calls and texts
Apple gives iOS users the ability to report unwanted phone calls and text messages as spam. In iOS 12 there will be support for this, via third party software with which notifications can be made.
A developer web page on Apple’s site mentions so-called Unwanted Communication extensions. The page explains, among other things, how users can report unwanted calls by swiping left in the list of recent calls. Text messages can be reported with a special button in the app.
Furthermore, the webpage explains how developers can implement such a feature for Unwanted Communications, which can then be turned on in the settings. The feature should be available with iOS 12, which is currently still in beta.
The new feature must therefore be implemented by developers themselves and only applies to phone calls and text messages. Incidentally, Apple itself has already built in support for reporting spam within iMessage.
