Apple Doubles Memory Amount of Cheapest MacBook Pro Retinas
Apple updated its MacBook Pro laptops with “Retina displays” on Tuesday. All 13″ laptops now have 8GB of DDR3 memory and new Core i5s, while the 15.4″ models have 16GB and the latest generation Core i7s.
Previously, the cheapest model from the 13″ series had 4GB and the simplest model from the 15.4″ series had 8GB DDR3 memory, but Apple has equalized the entire line in terms of memory on Tuesday.
In addition, all MacBook Pro models have 0.2GHz faster Intel processors. The MacBook Pro Retina 13″ comes with Core i5 dual-cores with clock speeds of 2.6GHz and 2.8GHz. The MacBook Pros with 15″ screen are Core i7 quad-cores with clock speeds of 2.2GHz and 2,2GHz. 5GHz. Prices have remained the same for all models except for the most expensive MacBook Pro 15″: that most expensive model has received a price reduction from 100 euros to 2529 euros.
The update comes as no surprise: Monday there were already indications that it was coming and Apple always follows Intel with an update with a new processor generation. Incidentally, it is striking that Apple still has a thicker MacBook Pro 13 “without a Retina screen and with a hard disk in its range, but that it does not receive a processor upgrade. It seems that the days of this model are numbered.
