Apple doubles Mac mini storage capacity
Apple has given its Mac mini computer a modest hardware upgrade. The manufacturer supplies a standard PCI-e SSD with a storage capacity of 256GB for the entry-level model and 512GB for the more expensive variant.
The SSD capacities have thus doubled in terms of storage compared to the previous generation. That is also the only hardware innovation that Apple is implementing with the Mac mini. Moreover, the doubling comes at an additional cost: the entry-level version of the Mac mini with Core i3 and 256GB SSD now costs 929 euros, while the entry-level model of the previous generation cost 899 euros.
The version with Core i5 and 512GB SSD has also become a bit more expensive: 1279 euros compared to 1249 euros for the previous version, with Core i5 and 256GB SSD. The previous announcement of a new Mac mini dates back to October 2018. That version came after a relatively long period of silence around the compact computer because the version before that came out in 2014.
