Apple doesn’t have enough replacement batteries for the iPhone 6 Plus
Apple is short of batteries for the iPhone 6 Plus, so users who want to provide their device with a replacement battery may have to wait until the end of March. MacRumors claims that based on Apple documentation.
New stocks of the batteries concerned will not be available until the end of March or beginning of April. According to MacRumors, the manufacturer disclosed this in a document to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers this week.
To replace the battery of the iPhone 6 and 6s Plus, the waiting time is approximately two weeks, the document says. The iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone SE would not have to deal with the battery replacement delay. Apple has not confirmed the message.
Apple is replacing batteries on out-of-warranty iPhones this year for a reduced cost of $29, after the company apologized to customers in late December for tacitly adding a feature to iOS 10.2.1, with the OS slashing the performance of the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, and SE. When it turned out that the iPhones were working slower, there was a stir, especially because with new batteries the performance was restored.
