Apple delays watchOS 2 launch due to bug
WatchOS 2 for the Apple Watch will not be released on Wednesday, as Apple previously announced. The manufacturer has discovered a bug that needs to be fixed first. The company promises that a release will not be long in coming.
Apple reported the delay to US media outlets as 9to5mac: “We discovered a bug while developing watchOS2 that is taking a little longer to fix than we expected. We’re not releasing watchOS 2 today, but we will soon.” The company promises to provide more details later.
According to 9to5mac, there are no known bug reports from testers of watchOS 2’s golden master that seemed to indicate a delay. However, some users would experience slow operation. WatchOS 2, announced last week, will bring expanded Siri support, directions, photo watchfaces and native apps to the wearable. In addition, developers get more direct access to the sensors.
