Apple closes its stores due to coronavirus outbreak
Apple has decided to close its stores worldwide due to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus. The stores are closed until at least March 27. The only exception is China, where stores are reopening.
The company has released a statement about its approach to the corona virus, which means that most stores worldwide will close for the time being. The company refers customers to its online store and support.
The only exception to the policy is the area Apple refers to as Greater China. In addition to China itself, this includes Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. The shops there are reopening because the outbreak of the virus appears to be under control.
In addition, like most companies, Apple allows its employees to work from home as much as possible. It also decided to offer its developer conference WWDC only in an online format. Health organizations have recommended avoiding social contacts as much as possible in the coming period in order to contain Covid-19 as much as possible.
