Apple approves app with ChatGPT integration without changes after disapproval
Apple has approved the update of an app that integrated ChatGPT, after the company previously rejected the app several times. The developer did not make any changes to the app, but the change did receive media attention.
Apple admitted the app to the App Store without changes just before the weekend, writes The Wall Street Journal. Apple had asked the developer to build in content moderation because of the ChatGPT integration and the developer had previously said that he had done so. Still, Apple continued to disapprove the app.
According to app reviewers, Apple was concerned that children could generate inappropriate content with the app due to the integration of ChatGPT. It concerns an email app, Bluemail, that can create new emails based on previous emails with the ChatGPT integration. There are no official rules surrounding artificial intelligence that can generate content for the App Store.
