Apple announces One More Thing event on November 10
Apple will release yet another new “at their headquarters in Cupertino, USA on November 10,”One more thing“Event announced. After all previous launches, including the iPhone 12 models that are so important to Apple, it is expected that Apple will now come Apple with a series of new MacBooks with their own Silicon chips that will replace the current Intel chips.
The ‘One more thing ‘ invitations have now been sent by email (see below). Nothing is officially known yet, but it is almost impossible that the event will be about new MacBooks with Apple’s own chips. CEO Tim Cook already had during the presentation of the quarterly figures that something new was coming.
If it is true and the new Macbooks do indeed get the new own chips, it also means the end of a 15-year collaboration between Apple and Intel. News site Bloomberg seems to know it all and expects three new Macbooks:
- 13 inch MacBook Pro.
- MacBook Pro of 16 inch.
- 13-inch MacBook Air.
The 16 inch is particularly anticipated. It is still the question when all MacBooks will be on the market. It seems likely that the largest model will be the last to be marketed. Apart from a new super-fast chip from Apple itself, no spectacular innovations are expected for the new MacBooks.
Apple has wanted to get rid of Intel since 2012. Not only does a proprietary chip fit in with the strategy of Apple’s desired independence, it should also ensure that Apple products can work even better together. Macs are the only devices that Apple makes that do not have their own chips.
The new chips that will be used in the new MacBooks are based on the A14 chip that we already know from the new iPhones and iPads and mainly ensures improved energy efficiency. After new MacBooks, Apple also wants to equip their expensive desktop computers with this new chip in the coming years (at the earliest in 2022).
