Apple adds camera button to Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11
Apple has released its Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 11 phones. The version of the case for the latest generation of iPhones has a camera button, which should allow users to take photos faster.
According to Apple, it is possible to control the camera app with the button. “The case has a special camera button that launches the Camera app, even when your iPhone is locked. With a tap you take a photo. If you hold the button longer, you take a video. And of course it works for selfies,” according to the manufacturer.
Apple has been making cases with built-in batteries for its phones for several years, but it is the first time that there is a camera button. The manufacturer has never provided its phones with a camera button, a function that has been on many other smartphones over the years. Sony still puts it on many of its smartphones, although many other manufacturers have discontinued it.
The button is on the right side. How it communicates with the phone is unclear; he can presumably pass the signal through Lightning. Previous versions of the case have a Lightning port on the outside and Lightning connector on the inside. A case should also provide 50 percent longer battery life. The cases are available for all three iPhone 11 models. Apple asks 149 euros for the Smart Battery Case. Deliveries start Friday.
