Apple has acquired LuxVue company. LuxVue is engaged in the development of small, energy-efficient displays. Apple may want to use the developed technology in its products, although no details were disclosed.

The acquisition was confirmed by Apple to TechCrunch, but the company, as usual with acquisitions, did not release any details about its plans for LuxVue. As a result, it is also not known what amount Apple is depositing for LuxVue.

LuxVue is engaged in the development of LED displays, with a focus on energy efficiency. Apple may want to use the technology developed by LuxVue in its products; the start-up has several patents in its portfolio describing technology for energy-efficient LED screens. Since the company develops small screens, the technology seems most suitable for products such as smartwatches.

Apple regularly takes over smaller companies. It was recently announced that Apple has acquired 24 companies in the past year and a half, mainly start-ups.
