Apple achieves highest quarterly revenue with the Mac to date
Apple saw a significant increase in sales in the past quarter with the sale of Mac computers and iPad tablets, mainly due to the increase in home working. IPhone sales fell in the run-up to the arrival of the iPhone 12.
Apple’s Mac quarterly revenue rose from $ 6.99 billion last year to $ 9.03 billion, an increase of nearly 30 percent. It was the highest quarterly revenue Apple had with the Mac in its history. IPad revenue increased from $ 4.66 billion to $ 6.8 billion. Apple announced new iPad models in September.
IPhones sales fell in the quarter from $ 33.36 billion last year to $ 26.44 billion, down nearly 21 percent. In mid-October, Apple introduced its iPhone 12 models. The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro went on sale last week, with the 12 mini and 12 Pro Max starting November 13. Last year, Apple released new iPhones in September, making sales count towards the company’s fiscal fourth quarter, as opposed to the new models now.
The turnover of Wearables, Home and Accessories, the division of the Apple Watch, among others, increased by 21 percent to $ 7.88 billion. Service revenue increased 16 percent to $ 14.55 billion. The total quarterly turnover thus amounted to $ 64.7 billion, a slight increase of 1 percent compared to last year.
