Apple achieved more revenue from iPads and Macs, partly due to corona

Apple has achieved more sales in recent months from deliveries of Mac computers and iPad tablets, partly due to the consequences of the corona virus outbreak. Many of the buyers have never owned a Mac or iPad before, the company claims.

Sales from Mac computers grew by 20 percent and that from iPads by 30 percent, according to the quarterly figures. According to director Tim Cook, this was partly due to the consequences of the corona virus outbreak. “The many teleworking and remote education helped the iPad last quarter,” said the director. The same goes for the Mac.

Apple had released new products in both categories. An iPad Pro with time-of-flight sensor was released this spring, while a new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro also came out this spring with scissors switches instead of the problematic butterfly switches from models of the past years. Apple also said this quarter that new models will switch from Intel processors to proprietary ARM processors.

The turnover from iPhones rose slightly, partly due to the release of the iPhone SE 2020, while that from wearables and services was also on the rise. Sales were $ 59.7 billion, an increase of about 12 percent. Net income also rose 12 percent to $ 11.2 billion.
