Respawn released a new event on Tuesday called the Iron Crown Collection Event. This event runs through August 27 and includes a limited-time solo mode and introduces new special cosmetic items. Players complain about the prizes.

The Apex Legends Reddit subpage is teeming with players who don’t have a good word for the system to collect the 24 new event items. One of the many complaining players, whose post has garnered more than a thousand comments, claims that the 24 items and skins are well worth having, but shouts out of frustration not to spend money on them.

To obtain the 24 items, players must open 24 Iron Crown packs. Each pack costs 700 Apex Coins, which is equivalent to about 7 euros in real money. Two of these packs can be earned by playing the game and can therefore be obtained for free, but to collect the remaining 22 items, 22 packs have to be purchased. That means an expense of 154 euros. Not everything has been collected yet, because only players who have all 24 items will be able to buy the Bloodhound’s Heirloom Set, which costs another 3500 Apex Coins or 35 euros.

There are also complaints that players who settle for less and only want to get a few items, still have to spend quite a lot of money. This is related to the relatively low chances of getting the desired items, so players have to spend 700 Apex Coins the necessary times to have at least a reasonable chance of getting the few skins they want.

The Iron Crown Collection Event will run until August 27. In addition to the addition of new limited-time items, the solo mode is also part of this expiring event. In addition, there will be a weekend in which extra experience points can be earned and a visual change has been made to part of the playing field.
