AOC Introduces Curved 40″ Monitor with 10bit MVA Panel
Display manufacturer AOC comes with a curved 40″ monitor that has a 4k resolution and is equipped with a 10bit MVA panel. The screen has a curvature of 1800R and is therefore more curved than the 40″ monitor that MMD previously under the Philips name released.
According to AOC, the C4008VU8 has a 40″ mva panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The maximum brightness is 300cd/m² and the refresh rate is 60Hz, while the response time is 5ms. The panel can handle 85 percent of the ntsc -display color space. The manufacturer does not provide percentages for srgb and adobe-rgb.
The screen has vga, hdmi 1.4, hdmi 2.0 and displayport connections. There are also four USB 3.0 connections on the monitor. In the US, the monitor is for sale for about 850 dollars, converted including VAT that is about 960 euros. When the screen will be released in the Benelux and at what price is unknown.
MMD released a curved 40″ monitor under the Philips brand name at the beginning of this year. That screen is similar in many ways, but has a smaller curvature of 3000R and probably a different panel. According to the manufacturer, the Philips screen has a larger color gamut with 100 percent NTSC display.
