Antec introduces new High Current Pro power supply
Antec has introduced its High Current Pro Platinum power supply. The power supply can deliver one kilowatt of power and has been certified Platinum for its high efficiency. The psu is fully modular.
The power supply is the latest from Antec’s HCP or High Current Pro series and delivers a maximum of 1000W continuously: the other power supplies in the series deliver 750W, 850W and 1200W. The HCP Platinum 1000W is completely modular: not only the PCI Express, SATA and Molex plugs can be disconnected, the 24pin and 8pin power plugs are also modular. Five of the twelve sockets for modular cables have sixteen pins: this should allow future cables with additional 12V connections.
The kilowatt power supply comes with three SATA cables, two Molex cables and three PCI Express cables for a total of six PCI Express plugs. The cooling of the power supply is provided by a 135 mm fan that is controlled depending on the temperature. The four 12V rails can supply the full 1000W of the power supply. The Platinum certification guarantees a return of at least 89 percent and up to 94 percent. Antec gives a seven-year warranty on its power supply, which is available immediately for 299 euros.
