Creators of the anime streaming service Crunchyroll have released an app for the Nintendo Switch. The app is available to download for free from Nintendo eShop. In recent months, more streaming services have appeared for the Switch.

Available for download now on the eShop, the streaming app supports handheld, tabletop, and TV modes, as well as lets users download movies and series to watch offline. For some functions a paid subscription is required, starting at five euros per month. The free version contains ads. Crunchyroll is also available for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Xbox, Roku, and PlayStation. The app was purchased by Sony at the end of 2020.

In recent months, more streaming services have come to the Nintendo Switch, such as Pokémon TV and Twitch. The handheld console did not support streaming services upon release, but Nintendo indicated that it was reconsidering this decision. The Switch also has a YouTube app, but no Netflix, for example.
